X-League will form part of Whistler Wolves development plan as they kick off Rugby League in the area next year.

Playing their inaugural season in 2020 with training to take place in Whistler. The Wolves are creating a community Rugby League club that Whistler can call its own. The club is open to everyone who is looking to get involved and grow the sport of Rugby League in Whistler. All levels of experience are welcome to come down.

Whistler Wolves coach and president Blake Stewart explains: “With Whistler not being a place usually associated with Rugby League we are really looking forward to using the X-League systems at training to allow people of all experience levels to develop their rugby league skills. For us X-League is a great way to expose new players to the game and transition into full contact.”

X-League Steering group Dec Foy said “We are delighted to see X-League being used in Whistler, it is great to help support the effort to bring people into Rugby League, we feel it is important to give new players an environment to hone League specific skills, with a X-League World Cup planned for 2021 we are hoping to see representation from Canada and hopefully this playing group can provide some players”
